How Government Works

How Government Works The so-called government — from the highest federal levels down to the lowest local levels — is infested with the least competent, mediocre people in society. It is unlikely to change anytime soon. An employee of the government exists in an echo chamber and will rarely, if ever, achieve competence or rise above mediocrity. Those agents responsible for staffing decisions won't hire anyone whom they perceive as being better than or even equal to them. Those who are tasked with providing feedback on hiring peers won't recommend anyone as "good" as or, especially, any better than themselves. It's a vicious cycle that guarantees that the taxpayer will never get the return on investment (i.e. wages confiscated) they deserve.
